Anschutz Foundation Gives Matching Grant

It's no secret that the economic situation today is grim.

Unfortunately, when their funds are most desperately needed, many foundations are choosing to, or needing to, reduce the grant dollars they distribute. However, the Anschutz Foundation, long known for its consistent and generous investment in community-based non-profits, understands that this is a critical time to continue its funding of locally-focused organizations. Helping Hearts and Hands (HHH) has recently received an Anschutz grant of $7,500, that will match any "new" donor monies up to that amount.

This provides HHH with the opportunity not only to continue servicing clients in 2009, but to also expand its donor base. For example, if a person or organization (e.g., a church) has not donated to HHH before and contributes just $25 , that amount is automatically worth $50 to HHH. There is no upper limit other than the $7,500. If someone donates $1,000, the good people at Anschutz will turn it into $2,000. We are extremely grateful to the Anschutz Foundation for its continuing support and belief in the difference HHH makes in the lives of many in the metro area.

You need only to read the case studies on this website to be confident that HHH's dollars are stretched as far and as efficiently as possible, helping our neighbors to move forward and establish self-sufficiency.

When you see the relatively small amounts of money that individuals and families need to stabilize -- $200 for car repairs; $90 for a GED fee to be able to get a job; even $500 for a security deposit on a place to live -- the impact that this matching grant can have on many lives is clear.

In order to receive the $7,500 matching grant, monies must be received by April, 2009. If you've never made a donation to HHH, there is no better time than now. If you are already a donor, please accept our deepest gratitude. We hope you will consider introducing HHH to someone new so that they can experience the pleasure of investing in the well-being of others. You already believe in us -- we hope that your friends and family will too!

100% of donations made by individuals go to families in need.
Helping Hearts & Hands provides one-time assistance for individuals and families who have special needs that cannot be met through their own resources and threatens their self-sufficiency. We provide the community the opportunity and privilege to help people "who fall through the cracks" and cannot get help from anywhere else.
